NEW IC CATALOGS
First off, we’re thrilled to shout out some new folks who joined the IC community recently:
à La Carte Records, an independent record collective based in California and Washington DC, founded in 2020, who specialize in physical releases of post-punk, darkwave, shoegaze and synth pop records. Mad Maker Studio, an indie label that’s home to multi-instrumentalist Maya de Vitry. Calamity Culture Records, an independent alt/punk/rock/metal record label based in Brighton. Black Eye Music Publishing, based in Auckland, who represent a select roster of independent, contemporary songwriters. Backwoodz Studioz, a New York indie record label established in 2002. Polder Records, a Belgian label, “grown out of necessity and urge to self-release local underground bands”.

NEW SIGNINGS
Suicide Squeeze welcomed Austin, TX quartet Holy Wave to the label, with a new album due in the second half of 2023!
Their entire discography is now available on streaming services, and the band will headline a special performance this Saturday (Jan 28) in Austin at Feels So Good.
Owing initially to the primal urgency of garage rock and the dizzying atmospherics of psych, Holy Wave has evolved to encompass a broader swath of sounds, culling from sources like the kosmische-pop of Stereolab and the disciplined production style of Steely Dan. That said, Holy Wave has never been mired in nostalgia; they’ve merely aimed to be thorough students of their trade, learning from previous generations to move forward into the future.
