Hey and welcome to the IC Community Weekly, a special Bandcamp Friday edition!

After a brief hiatus we’re back with more of the new music and videos you’ve dropped (so many videos!!), as well as recent signings and upcoming shows, tours, and events. We’ve also added upcoming 🎟️ Industry Events from our Directory to the end! Should we go to The Great Escape again this year?! Anyone else going? We’re still on the fence!

NEW IC CATALOGS

A very warm 🤝 to these new catalogs:

Ransom Note is an online music, arts and culture magazine, record label and events curator who, for over a decade, “have worked alongside innovative creatives from all over the world to spread music, challenge societal norms, defy political agenda and create art.”

Post Present Medium is a label started in 2001 by Dean Allen Spunt, one half of the noise rock duo No Age. They’ve put out records by artists from a roster that that includes Abe Vigoda, BARR, Best Coast, Syko Friend and Non Plus Temps.

sound as language is a record label, PR agency and distributor established in 2020 and based out of North Carolina.

Sol Remédios is a record label and curation haus based out of Berlin, with its own venue opening later this year!

BANDCAMP FRIDAY

It’s that glorious Friday, when Bandcamp waive their revenue share and everyone gets an (even better) opportunity to directly support the independent artists and labels they love.

Elene has the brilliant Kara Jackson record Why Does The Earth Give Us People To Love? (September) in her sights…

Adam is excited to get the new record Big Picture by Bristol born/US based Fenne Lily (Dead Oceans)…

& Ari plans to pick up The Room by Cairo’s trip hop, illbient and club producer Hashem L Kelesh aka Dijit, which “documents a decade of sprawling productions at his home studio, fuelled by the energies of his friends and collaborators”

NEW RELEASES

🎧 Ramp Local released new single Devil Lady by “Philadelphia's genre-smashing alien duo” GHÖSH. You can pre-order their new EP PRISMASSIVE here, which comes out May 26th

🎧 Post Present Medium released Last Glacial Maximum, the debut record by DREAM_MEGA, the project of LA-based artist/musician Joel Kyack. The record “unfolds like a set of auditory hallucinations that are at once alien, funereal, triumphant, and life-affirming” and is available on vinyl/digital here

🎧 Polyvinyl announced the “highly anticipated and absolutely rocking” new Palehound record, Eye On The Bat, an album that finds them “at their most lyrically poignant and musically powerful.” Listen to new single The Clutch:

🎧🖥 Fire Talk announced Pure Music, the new album by Strange Ranger, will come out July 21st. Ahead of that, watch the video for new single from it She’s On Fire:

🎧 Joyful Noise announced the new Son Lux album Alternate Forms, which you can pre-order here.

🎧 Double Double Whammy artist Long Beard has re-emerged with her first new song in four years, a collaboration with Ryan Galloway (Crying, BUMPER). The track is Posters and you can check it out below:

🎧🖥 Get Better announced the new Suzie True album, Sentimental Scum, out June 30th. Watch the video for new single Keep In Touch below and pre-order the album here

🎧🖥 The first official Kill Rock Stars Nashville release is the Mya Byrne record Rhinestone Tomboy, which is out now. Watch the video below for her new single Devil In My Ear, which is directed by Dylan Mars Greenberg and features an all-trans cast ❤️

🎧 Nonclassical announced Interzone, the new record by Nichola Scrutton, which combines electronics, field recordings, archival materials and experimental vocals. It will be released as CD and digital download on June 15th and you can pre-order it here

🎧 Royal Mountain band Ultra Q shared the latest single Rocket from their debut album, My Guardian Angel. Pre-order the album, which comes out on on June 9th here

🎧 Free Dirt Records released Cadence, the new album by experimental folk artist Cinder Well. You can buy or listen to it here and we recommend checking out this beautiful live performance of track Overgrown:

🎧 Propeller Recordings announced they’re releasing a collection of out-of-print early singles and unreleased demos by New Math. You can pre-order it here and listen to the first single from it Die Trying here or below:

🎧 Chapter Music announced 1980s Bubblegum, the first ever reissue compilation for Sydney, Australia indie pop pioneers The Particles, which comes out July 7th. The release features all their officially released music from 1980-1984, plus a raft of bonus tracks. Check out a track from it, Trumpet Song, below:

🎧🖥 Raw Tapes released Wake ‘n Bake, the first single from the forthcoming Duo Brothers album, which you can pre-order ahead of its release on May 12th

🎧 Suicide Squeeze announced that Chastity Belt are releasing a 10th Anniversary limited vinyl pressing of No Regerts, which you can pre-order here

✍️ Kill Rock Stars announced they’ve signed married duo Tim Kinsella & Jenny Pulse, FKA Good Fuck. Midwestern emo pioneer Tim is best known for his work in Joan of Arc, Cap’n Jazz, Owls and Make Believe and experimental sound artist Jenny for hers as Spa Moans and Marmalade. Check out new single Sun Inspector:
