🎧 Kill Rock Stars in collaboration with Bloodshot Records released the Layng Martine Jr. record Music Man. Layng is a member of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and has written songs for, amongst many others, Elvis, The Pointer Sisters, Reba McEntire, Trisha Yearwood, and Jerry Lee Lewis. 🎧 Sahel Sounds released the self-titled new record by Namian Sidibé. Showcasing another side of modern Malian praise songs, Namian is from a rising generation of young Malian divas leveraging social media and has built a following publishing videos and dedications in song, accompanied by her cousin Jules Diabaté on acoustic guitar. Check out the record, full of “epic generational songs and poetry, brought into the Tik Tok age”, over on Bandcamp
🎧 Get Better released Thaw, Freeze, Thaw, the new record by Philadelphia band Paper Bee, which includes members of All Dogs and Radiator Hospital. The band crafted the record with producer Kyle Gilbride (Swearin’, Waxahatchee) while all living together as housemates through the COVID-19 quarantine. Check this “story about queer love, heartbreak, and belonging” out now here
+ They also announced the new 7", Pottery Class from British artist Lande Hekt of Exeter indie-punk trio Muncie Girls (who’s currently supporting The Beths on tour). It’s out June 9th and you can pre-order it here
🖥 Suicide Squeeze shared a dog-centric video for the track Say It Too by Death Valley Girls. They said about the video: "Our band text group chat is called “Animal Welcoming Committee” every dog we meet, in every city we visit, we want to make feel like a famous superhero! Almost like we are moonlighting as musicians, but really we are on tour to love dogs. Last summer Rikki covertly filmed every dog interaction (around 150!) we had on tour in Europe, and secretly made it into a video for Bonnie’s birthday!! We are so excited to share with you the heroes we met in June 2022!"
