The latest record from Carpark artist Madeline Kenney was the Stereogum Album of The Week. Check out A New Reality Mind, which they called “a simmering, dynamic delight” here
The 2023 Mercury Prize nominees were announced, with albums by Arctic Monkeys, Ezra Collective, Ezra Collective, J Hus, Jessie Ware, Jockstrap, Lankum, Loyle Carner, Olivia Dean, RAYE, Shygirl and Young Fathers all in the running. The winner is announced September 7th and you can get tickets to the ceremony in London here

We’re hiring a new entry level Catalogs Team member!
This team is the beating heart of IC, made up of all the folks here who directly interface with catalogs and payees, and is broken into Sales, Service, and Support.
As the newest Catalogs Team Member you’ll mainly begin in the Support department, solving the challenges our customers face on a day-to-day basis, and eventually become a Services expert, who onboards catalogs and helps them keep their accounts up to date.

🎧 Nyege Nyege Tapes released PANICO NO SUBMUNDO (‘Panic in the Underworld’), the latest record by São Paulo producer DJK, which “pushes Brazilian funk to horrorcore extremes, colliding Lil Uzi Vert and Halloween samples into a dizzying metallic symphony” (Pitchfork in their 7.9 review)
🎧 Keeled Scales released the new Meernaa track So Far So Good. The band’s songwriter Carly Bond said about it: “So Far So Good' is a little tongue-in-cheek song about the absurdity, awareness/willful ignorance, and beauty of human desire amidst adversity and societal collapse. It’s acknowledging privilege in whatever capacity while continuing to desire more.” It’s the title track from their new album, which hits shelves on October 6th but you can pre-order it here.
🎧 Ransom Note Records released Raqs EP by Bawrut, the follow up to his debut album on the label, In The Middle. Listen here

✍️ Chapter Music welcomed Sydney based alt-pop visionary June Jones to their roster with new standalone single Good Girl, which is the latest ‘Song You Need to Know’ according to Rolling Stone Australia:
✍️ Get Better Records signed Open City, a Philadelphia four-piece featuring singer and lyricist Rachel Rubino (Bridge And Tunnel, Worriers), bassist Andy Nelson (Paint It Black, Ceremony, Dark Blue), guitarist Dan Yemin (Paint It Black, Lifetime, Kid Dynamite, Armalite), and drummer Chris Wilson (Ted Leo & the Pharmacists). Their new album, Hands In The Honey Jar is out October 6th and you can pre-order it here
