Hey and welcome to a new edition of IC Community Weekly!
In the week where Twitter/X tried to raise money by selling vinyl and AI tried to kill us, you, as usual, released lots of great music.
Keep scrolling for that, but first, some general community news…
There are now over 200 active catalogs on IC! Thank you so much to all the folks who helped us get here, lots of whom will be on this email. We’re so grateful for you putting your trust in us and are excited to keep improving for you ❤️
We’ve had so many amazing applications for our Catalogs Team role and will be closing this out today and interviewing in the coming weeks. Thanks for taking the time to apply or share the post - we look forward to introducing you to our new hire(s) in the not-too-distant future!
Topshelf was awarded Label of the Month by Redeye 🏅
There are three days left to apply for the Nonclassical AiR (Artist in Residence) program, which is seeking to find four UK-based composers who will each be given professional coaching and mentoring. Applications are open until 10AM BST on Monday 14 August
NEW RELEASES
🎧 Captured Tracks released Wicked Jaw, the new record by Locate S,1 (aka Athens, Georgia-based songwriter Christina Schneider). It’s “sonically, a jubilant summer album and thematically a deep dive into darkness”, a record that spans genres “from doowop to cold wave, disco to soft rock” as it takes the listener on a deeply personal exploration of her trauma. Stream/buy it here
🎧 Royal Mountain released Mythologize Me the new track by Carrboro, North Carolina based singer-songwriter Eliza McLamb (who also co-hosts the excellent Binchtopia podcast). Check out the track, produced by illuminati hotties, here

🎧 Asi Suena Productions released Rockerita, the new single by Isaac Montijo today, which you can check out here. Isaac is an artist of Yoreme descent and has the distinction of speaking, singing and composing in the Mayo language of his ancestors, who are an indigenous group in Mexico
🎧 Earth Libraries released the Mad Anthony LP The Lost Tapes today, which was originally recorded in 1976. The release came about when Ben Schwab (Drugdealer/Sylvie) found the lost tapes of his father's 1970s group Mad Anthony and for several years tried to convince him to release them. The elder Schwab relented and along with his bandmates decided it was time to release the early recordings in to the world. Stream or buy them here
