✨ IC Community Weekly #30
ft. Elliott Fullam, Rae Fitzgerald, Proper, new Godcaster + Ev Bird singles, a SLAP RASH EP announcement, a Hella reissue from KRS, a Velocity Press launch, a job at Secretly Group, events & more!
Hey and welcome to a new edition of IC Community Weekly!
In the week where Burning Man turned in to a mud bath and a Jeff Rosenstock tweet on Labor Day started a discourse about venue merch cuts (with Steve Albini, Car Seat Headrest, Helado Negro, Sweet Pill and more sharing their experiences in response) the IC community, as usual, released lots of great music.
Keep scrolling for that, but first, some general community bits…
IC co-founder Hunter published a breakdown of the new "Artist-Centric" system of calculating streaming royalties vs. the Pro Rata system we know and hate. If anything looks wrong or you have any Qs he’d love to hear ‘em (just hit reply)
A reminder that Sipsman’s Record Fair is this weekend between 12pm-5pm at Transfer Co. Ballroom, as part of Hopscotch Festival in Raleigh, NC. Labels include Psychic Hotline, Merge and Double Double Whammy!
Topshelf Records hired Tyler Andere (formerly at Father/Daughter and Portals) to do their PR from Sept 25th - if you’re a music / pop culture writer they’d love to be in touch - email@example.com
Pack is launching a publishing arm - Pack Publishing. First signings include CONNIE, Internet Girl and Swansea Skag.
Cool Shit Cool People, headed up by friend of IC Maria Gironas,
are looking for new people to work with in music, tech, the creator economy, and social impact. Hit them up: firstname.lastname@example.org
