Hey and welcome to a new edition of IC Community Weekly!
In the week where Burning Man turned in to a mud bath and a Jeff Rosenstock tweet on Labor Day started a discourse about venue merch cuts (with Steve Albini, Car Seat Headrest, Helado Negro, Sweet Pill and more sharing their experiences in response) the IC community, as usual, released lots of great music.

Invada Records, an indie record company founded by musician & producer Geoff Barrow (Portishead, BEAK>, Ex Machina), and promoter and venue owner Paul Horlick. It was founded in 2003 in Bristol, UK and has released music by the likes of Julian Cope, The KVB and Sleaford Mods, as well as soundtracks for movies like Drive, Ex Machina and Solaris and video games like Far Cry 3 and 4 and Watch Dogs.
Bisaria Records, an indie label set up by the California-based artist Bisaria to surface the latest in dance and electronic music.
Ardenwood Entertainment, a new indie label that’s so far released music by the likes of Velvet Dreams and Vijay.

ALBUMS
🎧 Kill Rock Stars released End of Ways, the second full-length by musician and actor Elliott Fullam, a blend of home and studio recordings that “…demonstrates an unparalleled mastery of musical storytelling” (Illustrate Magazine). It’s available on digital now and to pre-order on vinyl.
🎧 Keeled Scales released the new record from Rae Fitzgerald, a self-described queer midwesterner “…who writes autobiographical songs that drift between ethereal wanderings and intimate confessions.” The record, Say I Look Happy, features contributions from Chaz Prymek (Lake Mary); Lucas Oswald (Shearwater), Jeff Johnston (Okkervil River) and many others and is available to stream now and on CD from next week.
🎧 Father/Daughter released Part-Timer, the new EP by New York based trio Proper today, which “…weaves transformative tales, diverging from the tired music industry grind through their signature blend of alt rock and emotional punk”.

🎧 Ramp Local released a new Godcaster single Lady Said a Body a “psychedelic fable” that “…unfurls from gently sparkling keys and flickering synthesizers to a mesmerizing, hallucinogenic wall of drum, bass, and electric/acoustic guitars.”
🎧 Royal Mountain released a new single by Montreal-based artist Ev Bird - an end of summer jam called Razz.
🎧 Sipsman released Every Step Is an Ocean by Katie von Schleicher, lifted from her incoming fourth record A Little Touch of Schleicher in the Night, which comes out October 20th - pre-order.
🎧 Sooper released the new Sen Morimoto single Bad State, taken from incoming record Diagnosis, which comes out on November 3rd - pre-order.

🎧 Fire Talk announced that they’re releasing Catherine Special, the new EP by brother-sister duo SLAP RASH. Hailing from Manchester, UK, the band has been building their reputation as a visceral live act since they started out in 2019, with their “…masterclass in balancing a punk ethos and carefully employed restraint” Check out new single Griefcase and pre-order their record, available October 27th.
🎧 Get Better announced the new record by LA “queencore” band Hit Bargain (ft. ex members of Beach Fossils & Cold Beat). It’s called A DOG A DEER A SEAL and comes out November 10th. Pre save/pre-order.
RE-ISSUES
🎧 Kill Rock Stars reissued the Hella record Hold Your Horse Is and it was hailed Best New Reissue in an 8.3 review from Pitchfork. Copies of all variants sold out in a day but more info coming soon on additional stock - in the meantime, stream the remastered album + previously unreleased demo versions of The Republic of Rough and Ready + City Folk Sitting, Sitting.
🎧 Chapter Music released the the first ever vinyl edition of Finally, their overview of the 1990s recordings of Connecticut songwriting icon Kath Bloom, which were originally released on CD in 2005.
NEW SIGNINGS
✍️ Slumberland welcomed New Jersey power pop band Lightheaded to their family! Their new EP Good Good Great! is out October 13th on cassette/digital but ahead of that first single Mercury Girl is available to stream.
