✨ IC Community Weekly #67
ft. a new Bacchae LP, Allegra Krieger, Throwing Snow and Liv Greene records on the way, what's in Julia Jacklin's bag, Pedro the Lion live, Cola tour dates and more!
Hey everyone and welcome to a shorter than usual, post-holiday edition of Community Weekly.
It’s also sadly the last one I (Adam) will be writing so wanted to take a moment to thank folks for taking the time to send in their releases, read the newsletter, and share it far and wide on your socials over the last year and a half. It’s been a lot of fun making these and designing social content here at IC and i’ll be looking to do more of the same in future - you can find me on LinkedIn or email me here if you want to connect.
Anyway, despite the holiday you’ve still shared news, dropped some great new music and videos, announced tours and more. Let’s check it out…

Other Record Labels are kicking off a new 9 week series called, Record Label Basics… where they focus on the basics of the music industry that are essential to know for indie artists and record labels, starting with how having a solid grasp of ISRCs (International Standard Recording Codes) and barcodes is crucial for managing and distributing music efficiently.
NEW RELEASES
ALBUMS
🎧 Get Better released Next Time, the new album from Washington, DC punks Bacchae today, which was produced by J. Robbins (from Jawbox). The LP is “about mourning or regretting something that has been lost: work-life balance, a lover, a way of life, your motivation, your mental health, a sense of self” and is Stereogum’s album of the week. They call it “lively and catchy and engaging” and we couldn’t agree more.
SINGLES
🎧 Sooper released The Single, the second track to be lifted from Human Human, the forthcoming debut LP by Chicago singer-songwriter and producer Carlile. The song “offers an electro-pop sonnet of groove-luminescence” and comes paired with a glossy visualizer by Aliya Haq, which you can watch here.
🎧 NOS Recordings released Rock With You today, the new single by Erick Diaz, Freshcobar & Lavelle Dupree.
PRE-ORDERS
🎧 Double Double Whammy announced the second LP on the label from Allegra Krieger, entitled Art of the Unseen Infinity Machine - “a collection of 12 songs that pick at the fragile membrane between life and death”. It comes out September 13th.

🎧 Free Dirt announced the upcoming sophomore record from Liv Greene called Deep Feeler, which is due out October 18th. It’s a “smart collection of poignant storytelling and beautiful melodies… feminine, queer, and defiant.”
📖 Velocity Press announced How You Make Me Feel: The Life & Legacy of Marcus Intalex, a tribute to the late, great producer/DJ “and a genre-transcending story of passion, creativity and timeless underground music”. The book features insider access to his life and legacy with interviews with the likes of Goldie, Calibre, DJ Flight, Doc Scott, Mark XTC, plus 100 rare photos, artwork, and memorabilia. Due for release on October 4th but pre-order by July 14th to get your name printed in it and to receive it first in September.
